One Miami

One Miami is a complex of two adjacent skyscrapers in downtown Miami, Florida named One Miami East Tower and One Miami West Tower. It consists of two towers located at the Miami River delta, where the river empties into Biscayne Bay. The East Tower is the taller of the two, at 460 ft (140 m). It contains 44 floors, and was completed in 2005. The West Tower is 449 ft (137 m) tall, and contains 45 floors. It, too, was completed in 2005. The complex was one of the first announced in the recent Miami building boom, but the construction process was slow, as the buildings took over five years to be completed. The complex is located on South Biscayne Boulevard and Southeast 3rd Street. Downtown Miami has set itself apart as not only a financial center, but as a cultural center and a residential center. Downtown Miami has a great mixture of high-rise commercial office buildings, as well as stunningly modern residential towers. Most of the newer buildings feature only the latest in technologies and amenities. Postcard views of Biscayne Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the rest of the city make apartments in downtown a remarkable opportunity. A central and easily accessible location makes Downtown Miami a lucrative destination for real estate investors. Downtown Miami is one of the few major areas of Miami that are linked to the rail portions of mass transit. The Metromover is a free monorail train that circulates throughout downtown and makes getting around very simple. The Metrorail links up to South Miami and North Miami, as well as the University of Miami in Coral Gables and the Jackson Memorial Health System just to the North. Additionally, the I-95 is just to the West and provides easy vehicular access to the rest of the city. A short drive along I-395 leads to South Beach. Another popular destination is Bayside shopping center with wonderful boutique shops and restaurants. Parrot Jungle, right off of I-395 makes for another area attraction. Other municipalities near Downtown Miami include Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, and Coral Gables. It is very difficult to find any area that offers the metropolitan atmosphere that has taken Downtown Miami by storm. Miami is a relatively young city, originating in 1896, but “the Magic City” is always on the rise. You can be a part of its most dynamic, modern, and centralized region.
